Default timing belt adjustment

my friend who put my timing belt on didnt line it up correctly. if im not mistaken the the notches on the cam gears have to be paralle with the block, and it looked a bit convexed. so would i be able to set the crank pulley to tdc mark with the timing case then loosen the tensioner and adjust the cam gears a bit then re tighten the tension. that way save me the hassel of removing everything.

Yes you can adjust your timing without taking everything apart.
