An alternative would be to remove the VSS (vehicle speed sensor) from the tranny (screws in) and fill it up there. I know a lot of people who use this method. Some believe it easier than messing with that top fill bolt.

good luck.

just get a breaker bar or a pipe extension for your existing ratchet for more leverage.... that should get it loose...

I just did mine on Saturday- sprayed PB blaster onto the bolts and let it sit... then had to use a 1/2 inch ratchet to bust the top one loose. It's friggin tight.

Wait. Hold on. You can't get the drain plug loose, yet you already drained it? That doesn't make sense to me. You need a 3/8 drive socket wrench and a pump to get the fluid in. Put the socket wrench box on the drain plug (no socket, the bare box end will take care of it) and loosen. Then get a pump from checker or somewhere, and pump the oil into the tranny. VSS is a pain to get to, but can work if you don't have a pump. Then tighten up, no need to make it dificult.

huh? no dude i cant get the FILL plug loose well i think i got it filled, i took that panel off that has like 8 bolts on it and then it pops off, well i took that off and got a transmission drain plug kit and basically drilled a hole in that plate, then used the drain plug kit to basically cover the hole and now i have a new fill plug i just filled it to the book specs and called it good thanks guys

I think it is better and safer to get a breaker bar and try to loosen the fill plug.

Did you maintain the same height for the new fill hole? You CAN overfill the tranny... which is not good.
