Distributor Cap & Rotor problems 91 Integra LS
My cap and rotor went bad 2 weeks ago. (I opened up the cap and I could wobble the rotor back and forth) I had replaced it less than 10,000 miles before that sometime during the begining of July 2006.
This morning I started my car and it's making the same noise it has made the last two times. (dull screeching noise & it sounds like things are breaking inside the cap.)
Should I get a new distributor instead of just throwing another cap & Rotor on?
Has anyone had this problem with their car?

Re: Distributor Cap & Rotor problems 91 Integra LS (95 integra)
The screw is holding the rotor on but the rotor seems to destroy itself. I'm not sure if it's vibrating really bad or why it's doing it. When I first put it on it's nice and tight. Doesn't wobble at all. After a while the plastic around the metal that the screw (the screw is still tight) goes through is loosening up and the rotor then moves freely and wobbles destroying the inside of the cap.
I bought one with a lifetime warranty last time thinking that the previous one I bought was cheap but I guess that wasn't the case.

Does the distributor shaft have any play? If so...the bearings are bad and u have to replace your distributor!

I couldn't feel any play in the shaft of the distributor. I did order a new one and will put it on sunday. Hopefully it fixes my problem. Thanks for all of the info & help.

I have never had any headaches with OEM caps and rotors. If your new distributor comes without them, I would suggest you use the OEM parts.
