Whats the horsepower rating on a precision sc61 turbo
Looking around for a new turbo and was thinking about the sc61 precision turbo. My setup is a 1.8L 81.5mm sleeved ls block with aftermarket pistons and rods.Looking for a turbo around $1000 and below but also looking close to 700hp rating.Any input is helpful thanks H-t.So far after reading some post this one seems to fit me SC-6176E.
EDIT: I'll also be running a topmount manifold anywhere from 20-28 psi

That 680 rating is more of a flywheel hp rating. I've done 655 on a 6176, but it was a rare situation, it was a very good engine combination. 700whp is NOT a realistic number on a 61mm compressor. I'd look more towards a P trim T67 for your goals.

look at the borg warner S362 or S364 and higher they flow over the 650hp mark but they are built more like the holsets in my opinion and for me those turbos rock

We've had customers reach 660-hp at the tire with a 67 compressor wheel and one of our .63 A/R T3 exhaust housings, but he had to push 45-psi to do that -- but that's not a sensible combination for the street. You're really stretching the flow capacity of a T3 exhaust housing. We can put you into a .82 A/R T3, which would help, but we really feel you need a better flowing T4 hosuing in order to give you 700-hp at the tire. New journal bearing PT67 turbos MSRP at under $1,100 and there are better street prices. A ball bearing version would retail at under $1,375. Hope that helps!
