Turbo XS dual stage boost controller
Anyone used this or no someone who has? It sounds like a good idea to me. You have the accuracy of a manual boost controller with the adjustability of a electronic one..just want some feedback, thinking of buying one..

I tuned a guy (username LEON) that had it. Its pretty cool actually. You have a switch inside the car you can flip to change from low to high boost. Worked great!
I would recommend it for the price if you don't want or need the features of the super expensive electronic controllers.

Re: Turbo XS dual stage boost controller (GruvyTune)
GruvyTune, how do you tune a car that has two different boost settings? For example if i want to run 7 psi daily driving and 10 psi for all out. Do you tune the car for 10 psi and just run really really rich on 7 psi?

Well, if you are tuning a Hondata system, you will be tuned at all boost levels.
If you tune an fmu, you tune to maximum boost. All others should relatively fall into place if the rise rate is correct.

since u probably know more about the hondata unit than me, can you expain why you would be tuned at all boost levels? or how that works.

Re: Turbo XS dual stage boost controller (Cramerox)
I have the turbo xs duel stage and it worked great until last week. Now no matter how I set it the high boost won't go higher than 2 psi more than my low boost. So I can either have it the same as low boost or just 2 psi more. It sucks, if I want to run 15psi high I have to run 13 psi low now. I used to run 7 low and 11 high and it worked great then.
I also have a AVCR that I used for 3 weeks that does to much **** for me. I'm willing to trade it for a profec b and remote boost button.

very simple. I start tuning at partial throttle from idle. only then do i start tuning in boost and i tune one boost level at a time. Hondata lets you tune individual boost points. the maps provide for the tuning points in between

Re: Turbo XS dual stage boost controller (GruvyTune)
if i had my car tuned for 11 psi and 16 psi, would i have a problem running any psi in between or higher if the a/f ratios on those psis were safe?

Would you mind putting a pic up of the boost controller and where you have the lines running? I just want to see what line goes where. Thanks.

Re: Turbo XS dual stage boost controller (GruvyTune)
On average how long does it take you to tune a car with hondata, having diffrent boost levels?
And also are u a distributor for hondata? wondering how much your selling the units for.
I just wish hodata was campatable with obd2. thats the reason why im hessitant on getting one. NEw ecu plus harnest is like another hodata.

I can usually wideband tune to perfection in about 4hrs. then at some point its worth a trip to the dyno to fine tune the timing and get some HP figures.
I am authorized to sell Hondata units.
You can always sell your obd2 ecu, there is somewhat of a market for them. You can get an OBD1 ecu for $75-100 (a p28 that is).

Re: Turbo XS dual stage boost controller (gigantor)
I really like mine... it's just what I wanted. A boost controller that is relatively cheap, and easy to set and leave. I have the low boost at ~6psi, high boost at ~9psi. I mounted the switch on one of the accessory plates next to the parking brake lever
