do you think you could get to 90 ft/lbs before you ripped all the threads out of the block? lol

ever torqued 1/2 inch studs to 90 ft/lbs? its no joke! even with the 1/2 inchers its kinda scary

had the same issue. blew a chunk out of my head due to the dyno's O2 sensor was not properly caliberated and it was telling us it was perfect a/f ratios when it was not.

i would imagine you probebly have sometihng simular to my issue because a blown HG usually just causes smoke. a busted cyclinder will not let the motor even tr yto crank after a few revolutions due to parts jaming up the piston and head.

with my experiences back in the days of first turboing my y8 i had all kinds of headgasket issues from too much timing and it wouldn't smoke, but would push the **** out of some coolant from the overflow under boost and overheat

yea first sign of headgasket is overflowing is pushing coolant out of the overflow under boost.

if it gets to the point where you are blowing off hoses...STOP!! its already too late. trying to keep going from there really increases the odds of hydro locking the motor!

Well noone mentioned if the headstuds were torqued using ARP Moly Lube or Engine Oil. Many many people put 80-83ft-lbs with Moly Lube on ARP/GE/AEBS studs with no issues. If engine oil is used it is approx 15% more I was told by a very good engine builder.

Possibly cracked sleeve though unfortunately. I dunno we popped a couple of HGs this year come to find out the deck surface of the block had some beveling between #1 and #2 and #2 and #3 cylinders is what the machine shop told me they had to take .004" off. Also on teh intake mani side looked like someone tyook some scotchbright to it too I bought this stock sleeved block fdrom a friend and it took a hell of a beating

We used the ARP moly lube upon assembly and torque to arp spec which is the 3 step torque prcedure of 25-50-75ftlbs
