nice setup 90 jdm ef8 and nice numbers, im also running the greddy 18g on my b16a but havent had a chance to get it fully tuned yet. I wanted to get a new dp but not sure where to get one..i see lots of people fabricating but nobody does that around here. also i was wondering if the "blue" e-manage that came with it would be good enough to tune with or should i go with something better? i want to be close to 300whp. any help would be greatly appreciated..

thanks...you will have to custom make your downpipe so i would recomend getting the atp-turbo gt28 v-band flange and build a dp from there...i just re-did my downpipe cause i needed more room for a rediator shroud so i took the time and did it out of pie cuts, its a bitch and takes a lot of time but in the end you can get a much better bend...also using the atp-turbo gt28 dp flange you will have to grind out the flange to match the opening on the turbo to allow the internal wg flapper to fully open...for emanage that is so old i would not waste time or money with it, just go with hondata or something newer like that...i use hondata and love it

Very nice numbers.

What size charge piping are you using?
Has the wastegate been ported?

charge pipe is a 2.5.. and no the wastegate hasn't been ported.. I've only driven the car 3 times since the tune. Never had a single problem. Posting the motor up for sale..

Hi, anybody know if I can get a Gt2860RS with a T3 manifold flange, or do they only come with a T2 style? Need to order a log manifold for my 01 Prelude turbo project and then get the turbo. Want to make sure it'll fit with A/C.
Thanks if anyone has any info.

Similar to my first greddy build but i had a custom 2.5" dp. Stock LS block with a built b16 head and gsr cams, it made 270hp with 9psi @ Church's. I guess that's the difference with vtec.

Then on my built gsr block (84mm, 9.0:1 comp) with the same head and blox a cams and a 3" dp, it made 322 with 15.5psi and again @ Church's. With no changes, went to a shop down the street from me with a dynojet and the car put down 318hp, and that's with the car at lower than operating temp. So theoretically, the car would've made the same power on a dynojet as it did on the dynapak.

Nice dude, I'm decided to keep the set up, and I'm currently DDing it.. The TQ on it is nuts! and it pulls really good.. I'm looking to build a block next year I will prolly be running a vtec head with what ever I decide to do, and a new turbo set up.. But for now this is enough to keep me satisfied.. Are you still running the greddy kit?

Yea, tq on the Greddy kit is nice because the turbo is so small that there's is literally no lag. And nope, I sold the long block to my friend and Greddy kit to my cousin. This is my setup now...

Block:
Gsr sleeved 84mm Wiseco approx 8.8:1 compression
Manley Turbo Tuff Rods
ACL bearings
Cryo-treated crank

Head:
B16 PnP
5 angle
RM valvetrain
Blox A cams
Evolutions cam gears
Skunk2 IM (only thing I could afford at the time)
68mm TB
750cc injectors (Maxed the hell out, I think at 110% at the top lol)

Turbo kit:
AFI full ramhorm turbo kit with upgraded intercooler and turbo upgraded to t3/t61 (aka journal bearing GT35R).

I'm getting ready to do another build now, you always want more!!!

hate to bump an old thread, but did we ever get a definitive answer if the kteller 2.5" sohc downpipe fit the 18g b series elbow? not looking to build a new downpipe, i want the simplicity of the stock elbow to keep my ac/ps, but wouldnt mind opening it up a little bit to help

Call kteller. If they use a Gt28 series 5 bolt flange, then yes. If it is the 5 bolt ford-style flange, then no.. Can they make one using the same flange as the GReddy GT28R turbine flange? Call them and ask..

this is the downpipe off the cast elbow. not off the exhaust housing. its a 3 bolt flange. i doubt i would get ahold of anyone at kteller that would know.

I've made one, just use a standard 2.5" 3 bolt flange from summit and have a shop make you something.

No. they would NOT have that. That flange has to be custom fabricated. those that use a custom downpipe eliminate that 3 bolt flange that comes off of the downpipe "adapter", and base their fabrication off of the GT style turbine flange because of exactly that issue, and the fact that the adapter is not ported and causes a large exhaust restriction.

It doesnt. I've already stated you can find a 2.5" 3 bolt flange to bolt up to the stock cast elbow.

Pipe I made a few years back

We found that it did after 320whp mark, but not enough to write home about. It was more of a technical restriction than it was a huge HP difference.

The point is, it took some effort to get the 3 bolt flange or make it, correct? ( iirc today you can find them in quite a few exhaust/muffler repair shops now)

I'm glad you made something of that decent caliber that years ago. (It's a shame many would laugh at that now, but good stainless wasn't always available then .) When I had mine back in 2001, we did the same thing, but just eliminated the downpipe adapter altogether, when we found out what turbine output flange the GReddy was using.
