Methanol M85 vs Ethanol E85
Is any of you guys using methanol instead of ethanol or gas in your engine?
Just been toying with the idea where ethanol is not readily available.
From what I been reading there seems to be mixed views on corrosive properties of methanol being that much different to ethanol. I already run ethanol with no problems, have a components like aeroquip lines bosch 044 pumps and bosch 2kcc injectors and plastic fuel tank.
Energy in BTU per liter is almost half of gas, ethanol is around 65% BTU of gas.
Methanol is also cheaper, I hear they have M85 fuels (85%methanol-15%gas) in countries like China where corn is not so abundant as is in the US.

if rules allow, please use methanol over e85, especially if you are able to get a hold of it. if you plan to let the car sit for more than 1 week, just flush out the fuel system. we always run methanol over pump ethanol and the e98 stuff.

yep i know 100% is good for a race car but im more intrested in useing it in place of e85 for my mostly street car some weekend track car.
i know our race boatand most of the drag cars i have seen need to be started on race gas but run on 100%methanol/ would mixing 15% gas(like e85) help it start and be better for all around street duty?
