From what i've read, drain back is the way to go.
I bought this one from a HT sponsor (but in black), it's bad ***! How much is the AFI one you're looking at? This was about $275 and shipping was super super fast

Hi there,
I am just makign sure I understand your post fully. I myself have bought a T1 setup from Tony and I believe I will be running a drain back. Will this be unwise or unhealthy for the car? Is this something you should only execute on a race/track car? Please explain. Thanks in advance.

Re: CRANKCASE PRESSURE... HELP!!!
How can you put vacuum on the crankcase ALONG with being able to displace the CFM of each piston, in and out of the system? Say you somehow are actualy able to get a strong vacuum INSIDE the crankcase, Would The amount of CFM you would have to pull from the crankcase @ each displacment not have to match the CFM being displaced by the piston?quite a bit. Also to pull vacuum vs moving air, the opposing side of the vacuum source would probably have to be restricted to 1/2 the flow of the vacuum source, otherwise your just moving air.

Re: CRANKCASE PRESSURE... HELP!!!
i know what the oil looks like going back into the engine. it gets changed every event regardless.
and as far as a drainback being a nono, wow all the dyno pulls and 3 years worth of passes this engine has seen i guess means nothing.
have you ever twisted an engine to 11k running almost 150mph without a drain back? i have and my catch can filled every pass. since i have drained it back i have not had 1 issue.
i can see the arguement on a daily driven car, BUT, twisting an engine hard, at the track it will fill. and when there is no where for it to go, it will find its way onto your tire. but what do i know?
guess all the guys running t1 style cans with drain backs are having issues.

Re: CRANKCASE PRESSURE... HELP!!!
Just a quick question, I'm in the same boat as many with the question "Do I run a drain back or not?"
So let's say I have the ports from the valve cover to the breather box BUT I don't want to run a drain back, do I still remove the black box on the back of the block and put in the freeze plug and just leave the allen bolts as they are?

Re: CRANKCASE PRESSURE... HELP!!!
Thanks for the above answer to my question!
I wouldn't use steel wool if I was running a drain back, steel wool is horrible for oxidizing and can really let some horrible stuff into you oil, and since it's so fine alot of bits of it can end up in your engine. I'd use something like a load of stainless ball chain or similar
