Buyer Beware! FAKE GREDDY PARTS!!
Nothing is worse then someone copying a product and steal the sales with inferior product, and tarnishing the good name built by a company that has earned its name.
As a dealer, as long time fan of the product and Honda owner til the grave.

Wow if I was into greddy parts I would have been fooled.
ppl are dedicating more time into developing really good knock-off parts.

it appears to be a well duplicated product, until you open it up. hard one to catch though with the small visual differences between them, hopefully people see this before they buy any fake parts.

I had a customer with the real one, went through 2 diaphragms in a matter of 3 months. Might as well buy the knock off, Greddy can't seem to get them right.
I've noticed Greddy's quality has gone way down on some things over the past few years. I feel pretty confident they're getting some stuff made down the street from the knockoffs in China at this point. Probably how the drawings for the BOV got out. lol

Re: Buyer Beware! FAKE GREDDY PARTS!!
I read an article on this in Popular Mechanics recently, chinese copyright laws are few and far between, and easily dodged by chinese counterfitters. Don't be surprised if quite a few 'name brand,' items are knockoffs.
Apparently Samsung spent $100 million into an investigative department specifically just to locate and bring legal punishment to those copying their products. The fakes copy the name and even the trademark stamp to make it look 100% authentic. So there has to be a similar value of product on the market from Samsung alone, either already duplicated or projected to be duplicated within a short amount of time. As i read Samsung closed the department du to the fact that they expended all of the funds and weren't seeing enough progress in stopping the fake products to justify spending as much or more yet again.
Personally as long as it's cheaper and works as well, I dont care where it was made or whom it was made by.

If the people making the knock-offs become aware of the differences that the public is seeing then they fix the mistakes next time around. It gets harder and harder to tell the difference.

+1, if they read these forums then their gonna 100% fix the noticable differences, its good to know how to tell if you have a fake or real Greddy but Posting up all these details is not a good idea....not that greddy is doing so well anyhow.

Re: Buyer Beware! FAKE GREDDY PARTS!!
^----- Some times fake is good
Whats sad is the diaphragm will last at least 1/2 as long as the real one, but the ENTIRE package wholesales for 1/3 the real replacement diaphragm's outrageous price (not the whole BOV, just the diaphragm!).
I do see a possitive aspect to these near-perfect clones - it will definately make mfg's reconsider their huge markups, and ditch the outlandishly expensive sponsorships and marketing that's hardly needed this day & age of targeted marketing.

i love these post's, and i wouldnt worry about them knockoffs improving there designs to match perfectly as im sure thy've already had the side by side test and figured the subtle diffrences to be minor enough not to change anything.
