Icon2 Unable to read CEL Code after swap [Data Link Connector problem]

Hi everyone

I've been looking all around for a solution to this problem without success. Let me explain my situation.

I currently own a 99 Civic DX and I swapped a B16B to replace the old D16Y7 that was in it.
- The B16B was a 1998 [OB2a]
- The PCT ecu that we used was OB2b
- We used the old D16 wiring [OB2b] and did all the different change in wiring that were necessary

The car seems to run just fine. However, it seems there is an error since the CEL is on. When we tried to use the tool to read the code from the connector ... it sais it was unable to connect and that there may be a problem with the DLC [Data Link Connector]

To make a long story short [too late], I am trying to find a way to read the CEL code to find out what the problem is.

Any help is appreciate (:

Wire diagrams can be found at www.hondatech.info download one. Iirc there is power and ground for the scan tool on the dlc and a few wires used for communication to the ecu. You can find ecu pin outs at www.ff-squad.com ohm out from the dlc to the corresponding ecu pin maybe an open?

jdm ecu's don't have dlc function. you'll have to jump the 2 pin connector above the ecu.

Kyden,

If I am to jump the 2 pin connector... Do you know a step-by-step guide that explains how to do it ?

Or even better, could you explain to me where and how to do this ?

Thanks
