totally correct..
I'll be looking to finish testing DIY by the end of next week.
Yes it's a steal.
HR tuning answered correctly about the lean protection.
Thank JR

So this is very similar to Neptune RTP, minus USB connectivity. What's majorly different besides needing the Ostrich box hanging out of the ECU and EBC support (based on wording, implamentation is extra $$)? With the respondee as the 'salesman', what's eCtune's main selling point then?
BTW installing eCtune = fail. mtssdk.ocx never installed, among other odd errors. And this is a FRESH WinXp SP2 install. I thought this was supposed to be less buggy than Crome. </TD></TR></TABLE>
please go to forum.ectune.com for support.
mtssdk.ocx msg will always show on first install. It's the dll for the direct communication with the lc-1/lm-1.
Only on first start you will have that.
There is nothing wrong with that. If you needed support or have question i would like you to do that on our forum not H-T

Re: (calvinPGMFI)
the 1, and only selling point ectune has on me over crome, is the boost per gear with the solenoid,
thats critical.
and if thats in the DIY version, thats 5X cheaper than the s300, otherwise id stick with crome.
oh and if closed loop actually works with widebands, that would be 1 other selling point for me.
waiting for DIY to come out, so i can start fiddling with it.

boost per gear and RPM
and the 3 GPO's (read general purpose outputs, but actually it says: 3 STAGES of dry nitrous control), no more fiddling with jets
just got ectune pro last week. best investment yet.
first got overwhelmed and longed back for the simple crome. few hours of tuning and i don't ever wanna go back.
serial input for the wideband and wideband closed loop is really doing it for me (used to run open loop always to improve my mileage with 15.5 afr, now no worries with 15.5 closed loop)
gotta love ectune
P.S.
for the guy that's concerned with bugs. with crome i had days invested in debugging with the usbcables inputs comin from ostrich and ecucontrol(you know, the right settings, the right ports, the right speeds, the right blahblah). oke now i know and can probably do it alot faster. but with ectune
new laptop with numerous bull-**** on it. just plug and play, does'nt matter wich port where and who's. just plug both into random ports and startup your basemap

Re: (wolve)
what wideband you using?
you set your closed loop to try and hit 15.5 afr?
you can do that?
is there a seperate configuration window for wideband setup?

Re: (Glove)
With the closed loop you can hit 16.5 afr if you wish, it's user definable. There's a separate window for your wb closed loop settings. It works perfectly. There's also quite a few supported wb's and a custom config window if yours isn't supported at this time. Calvin has been really good about supporting/adding wb's so yours will probably already be there.

You just select what wideband you have and set the target afr. Checkbox for wideband closeloop. adjust your min/max adjustments voila

no wideband inputs with DIY?
that means no closed loop with widebands for the DIY version?
what is the anti-start device?
and also no datalogging?

Re: (Glove)
I believe the standard d14 input for wideband works with the DIY. The PRO just enables extra inputs, if you want to use d14 for something else.
Logging is included with all versions. You can install eCtune with a free logging license and use it to log, if your ECU has already been eCtune'd. More info here:

haha, i'm having fun with my version. the choice if you want your rev limiter work by cutting out the fuel/ignition or both, have given me a lot of fun and angry neighbours
when ignition cut, my launchcontrol simulates a small civil war around 4200rpm

How would this compare to the other tuning software such as Hondata S300 and Neptune RTP? Why should somebody choose one over the other?
Thanks in advance

This does not compare to the S300/RTP.... they both connect with a USB where this you have to connect via ostrich (which you have to buy on top of this system), this is more comparable to base NepTune and Crome than S300/RTP IMO, it appears eCtune has a nice feature list, but in all reality you dont need all that extra stuff, and it wont make your car any faster, but people love to buy features so to each his own.
