Man, that is INSANE!!!! Gives me high hopes for a future build. LOL. VERY good job! Must be a hell of a driver. Seems so consistent for how fast it is.
One thing that helps me on a pro tree, or any tree for that matter, is watch the bottom bulb, not the top bulb.

It still amazes me that you have never ran a 9 and strait crushed the 8. Not just an 8.9x off the trailer(apartment complex). But your first pass was 8.8x. Then to break off an 8.77 was just insane. Guy's , Bob is a natural driver! Well and the wing helped too. hahahaha. Congrats old man. Makes us old guys look pretty damn good.

thanks man.
Don't need to put it on a flow bench, it's a stock head, just springs and retainers. Look close at the first pic, those are stock Honda cams. My personal opinion, fwiw, is that boost compensates for a lot of weaknesses elsewhere. Head being one of them. Spent the head money on a better block. Truly though, this setup is absolutely maxed out. Not in a dangerous way... just maxed out.
I'm actually debating leaving the head as is, and running a smaller turbo. It's still going to nose over at 9k plus, but it won't get to 10k in 4th as quickly. I bet it runs very similarly. but I'll be better off with a quicker spool on the line for a more consistent bracket race package. I dunno though, just me thinking out loud.
I have another opinion, don't take apart a good running engine to feed your ego. Your ego is not your friend. ...lol... Right now, I want to get some consistency into it, and slow it down a bit to like solid 8.90's, adding more consistency. Like I said, I have to bracket race this car, it's not heads up around here.

You know what I knew you were going to say it was a stock head It doesn't but does surprise me that you can go 8.7s at 167
I know the fastest MINI out there has gone 10.36 at 136 on a stock head and cam.
What a combo you and the Speedfactory boyz have built there proving the old saying;
Its not how much you spend, but how well you spend it.

That is just AMAZING! Congratulations to the entire crew.
Running 8's is not easy, but wow you just made it look like is a walk in the park.
Where is the video?????
Are you coming to the shootout?

You know I'm damn proud of you Bob, damn proud. Mostly for sticking with it and not giving up when things didn't go as planned.
I love that it's running these #'s consistently on a basic sleeved 84x89 motor. Just plain old off the shelf 9.0:1 CP's & Eagles, ITR cams in a stock B16 head, VictorX IM & 65mm TB, and a Bob Wagner S372R.
This build was only intended to be a reliable 600whp bracket car, nothing more. Things got a bit more crazy along the way, but she's doing real well for what she is.
BTW, the motor is making roughly 800-850whp @ 40-42psi. I'm of the opinion that we should not go too crazy with it, but rather just make a few minor changes to get it in the 950whp range and keep it just on the edge of the 8.50/180mph chassis cert. We don't want to ruin the car - just keep it fast, fun, and as reliable as possible.
If you want to go farther than that, just start with a new tube chassis car.

You know how I was able to drive the car on the trailer after the race? First time EVER. I'm not in the truck for 10 minutes, my wife calls, our water heater died and flooded our basement. FATE thought I was home, I was at the track and it missed me this time... HA HA!!! Water heater and carpet replacement, heck that's NUTHIN!

It was a good time racing against you in that 8.77 run. My poor little red 1G DSM running 10.30s was hopelessly outmatched in the Pro class. But hey, it was fun anyway!
I'll be in FIS at Woodburn though. Should be a lot more competitive there.

MSD Digital-6 box
MSD hvc-2 coil
Thanks man. I'm creepin up toward 50, still feel like I'm 16 though.
Appreciate that, means a lot.
We keep adding things to it. Now it's just over 2100.
Yea, and hurry up, baby needs new shoes! ;P ...lol...
You to man.
I suppose we're prolly both in the wrong class, neither of us is likely to hang with that 8.30 crowd. CRIKEY!, that's fast. I'd rather be in that field though. I think those kinds of guys are used to putting up a number are likely more safe about it. That makes you safer as well. A better combination. experienced guys, that have put up a number now and then, know when to let off and give up on a pass when it's just to sketchy. That's good.

congrats bob! Your showing everyone it's all about the short track and after people get that down the second half of the track will take care of itself.
