~~~Found a video of the car from 3 years ago.~~~ September 2008. Didn't have a front bumper cover. Well, I did have one originally. Me and my buddy "Buzzard" were driving the car up and down the highway, it fell of and we drove over it. Stopped, grabbed it and tossed it in the back. Drove the car without it from then on.
You can here it spinning through 3rd, so I just grabbed 4th to tone it down. 24.5's on Lenso's
I think this was a 7.43@101
You Sir are my new hero!
i've been watching your progress for a while and it's always fun to root for the guy that stays with it regardless of setbacks.
when my setup is complete, i'll make sure to take it slow and learn the car before i think about adding power to make up for my lack of skills.
Congrats man.... must have been all worth it when you saw the 8's slip for the first time.
Thanks man. I'm waiting to see Brents car go 7's! I'm rooting for you guys!
Thanks man.
M&H gives me a lot of good natured crap for those. "It's not necessary to do the big burnouts". I tell them they are necessary. They make me happy. ...lol... I'm sitting in the car after a good one, with a big smile on my face, and I'm thinking, "THAT, was awesome!... I wonder if they'll let me do another one right away?". It could just as well be me doing burnouts in front of my house... and it has been on occasion. I come in the house, wife says, "what was all the noise about 5 minutes ago?" I tell here, " i think it was those jackass, ricer punks, up the street...I'll talk to them again." ~~~
This MAY OR MAY NOT be me... in front of my house.
Same car. We talked to the track manager before we did this one. full 1/8th mile
This was right after the funny cars did a quick burnout show... We kicked their butts. HA!
I was one more pass or broken part from having a big garage sale. One good weekend and I'M BACK for the next season. Much to my wifes dismay.
Do it! Do what makes YOU happy. No amount of meeting class rules or attempting to win $100 and a bowling trophy is going to make you happy if you'd rather race something else. Even if it's an old John Force Funny car chassis with a ROCK STOCK 130whp D-series in it. If that's your dream car, you gotta do it! Gotta find exactly what you want and do it, and build around your scenario.
My favorite car is my little "ef-bomb". I love that car. Runs like a 13.0 1/4, but we SCCA race it, track days, drag race, whatever the event, I bring that car and it works. Best bang for the buck EVER. I love that car. I weld to it, re-shape it, dent it, fix it, whatever I want, no regrets. It's an open and ever changing canvas. Build whatever makes YOU happy.
