Ending The Season With A Boom
So we decided to hit up E Town last night to try and work out some bugs we encounter over the weekend that prevented us from qualfying for the SFWD shootout. First pass off the trailer car leaves decent still shakes a little at the top of first locks me out of second ran it down to a 10.0@169. Get on the return road and the car just shuts off which it never ever does. Get out to check it and i see a big puddle of fuel all over the floor pop the hood to find the return line on the 2nd fuel rail is hanging off. Scary but greatful it didnt catch fire tighten the line check all the other lines too. Cunha made a few small adjustments to the tune and we went back out. Knowing that i missed 2nd pretty bad on sat and on the first pass i decide to just shift it slower and hope for the best. Go out car leaves good no shake and cuts a 1.59 which for us is pretty good. SHift it slow run through the gears and go 8.99. Get to the return road and im unstrapping myself and i notice the cars running a little rough. Gave it a few revs to clear it out and make sure oil pressure looked fine and BOOM a huge fire ball errupts. I quickly jumped out of the car and literally sat there and watched the fire just burn helpless until the fire trucks showed up and put it out. After it was out i checked and found the same fuel line off the rail again.
Damage from what i can see before tearing it down is body, wiring inside and out, fuel and vacuum lines, and a front end. Def could have been worse as i escaped without a single scratch or burn. But judging by the damage i see looks like our seasons ended and its time to start rebuilding. I have some video as the go pro was still recording and caught about 3\4 of the fire. Ill get tim to post it over the next few days. Here are a few pics i snapped as we loaded up.
Id also like to thank everyone who has made this a memorable season for us.

So sorry to hear Ricky, glad you made it out of the car unscathed-- fires are damn scary. I know you will come back better and quicker next year.

You are 100% right. I actually planned on putting a fire suppression system in next year. Sucks to have to come to this. But that's racing that's the risk we take.
