Re: Clutch masters FX600 user claim in plz
I ran the fx700 in my car with the same type flywheel design and never had a problem, car made 550 and did probably close to 20passes. Thats kinda scary, I just bought another fx700 for my new engine and asked for a steel flywheel but one wasnt avalible for my car. I would call clutch masters and tell them what happened because in no way is that user error thats their part failing. I wish you luck.

ran a fx725 with a flow control valve on a vr6 car never made over 200whp cause was never tuned right. clutch took a **** in 2-3months. called them and they blamed it on the tune. shipped them the whole clutch kit had, to buy a rebuild kit they had, was built in house get it back installed it didn't wanna go into gear after that. Had to turn it off and put it in gear a start the car so it can drive.

still stand firm with my comment, the only thing in your motor that should be made of aluminum is the outside of your block, alluminum transmission case, your head, your pistons, motor mounts. anything else is not a smart idea and I still think CM should take fill responsibility.

It is needed. That clutch is rated for a good amount of power and it came apart. That is a parts failure regardless of racing or not. Had it come through the bellhousing all the way that is a danger to the driver and spectators and should be fixed

Aluminum flywheel cannot be blamed for this...
All bolts on the flywheel to crank were tight? how about pressure plate to flywheel? There are so many other factors that could come into play.
But, Instead of looking at any other possibilities, lets just bash the company that made the product that could have been installed incorrectly, etc.

All bolt is tight with locktite (flywheel to crank,Pressure plate allso), you can se on the flywheel that the ring gear has been ripp off from alu flywheel.
Anyway this is the last time i use alu pressure plate, Billet steel is the way to go.

by the way I use CC twin plate clutch that got messed up after 10000 miles, caused of the damage was bad crank seal leaking oil on the plates,( clearly was a user/installer error) sent it in CC told me what cause the damage, and replaced all damage parts for a very reasonable price, without delay. checked everything else to make sure they were in correct specs, just saying maybe you should make your next clutch be from Competition clutch.

This clutch is very old. The Clutchmasters twin disc clutches have since been redesigned with new discs and a single piece chromoly flywheel.
