Default Why does my subwoofer go crazy?

Every once in a while, my subwoofer will make loud pulsing noises that will continue no matter what the volume is on the headunit. If I turn off the headunit, it will stop.

It will also stop when I move the wires going into the sub around. What can it be?

The noises are basically bass beats that happen about twice every second. It's very loud.

maybe it's your amp. i had a alpine 2x50 and had it hooked up to 2 tens and it started acting up. found out that the rca terminals on the amp were loose. not only did i lost my amp, but i also blew my 2 10's.

check your amp...like borrow an amp from a friend and c if ur subs do the same thing

It's a self powered subwoofer.

It just started doing this though. It sounds like there's actually something wrong, it's not like it just doesn't sound right, there is somthing defintely wrong.

Check the ground on your amp.

HAHAHAHAH that happened to ME tooooo!!!!!!!!!!!
it sounds like a heart beat.
I forgot what i did to fix it, but i think one of the speaker wire on the sub was touching each other.
so crack open your sub, and make sure no speaker wires are touching.

I had the same issue - turned out to be a short in the signal line 'tween my amp and the subwoofer tho'.
