Default outter metal cage on deck

are those outter metal frames that come with decks interchageable? I have a pioneer deck that doesnt have the cage...and I want to install it into my GF's car since her deck is broken...but her deck is a kenwood...would the pioneer deck just slide into that cage ????

They are all the same size. But most likely the deck will not click into it and lock.

why not stop by a local pioneer dealer's ( best buy,Circuit) install bay and off to buy one for a few bucks...they may have a few lying around and should sell em for less than 20 bucks ( if you ask nicely)

my old shop had a ton of different sleeves. not all cars use em, so when you get an iso mount car we kept the sleeve. talk to a installer and offer 5$ for one...they'll hook ya up.

exactly.. my shop has a BOX full of headunit sleeves. if someone offered me 5 bux and was cool bout the whole thing i would probably just give it to him or spend the 5$ on lunch cause i know they arent going anywhere else but the trash once we have to many of them layin around..

man....as much as i like my job now....theres times i miss my old installer job. we had a thing in the shop. those batterys for the alarm remotes, they were cheap. we charged 5$ and would even put it in for you. the thing is after 3 batterys we'de put the rest of the money into a jar. when we had enough we'de buy lunch.

it was a pain in the *** having to do rush work cause we were booked...but i loved the occasional "special" jobs that would come in. god, the things i've seen. lol.
