Original radio gets FM but no AM stations

Original radio gets FM but no AM stations
I started driving a 2002 civic coupe and noticed the original radio gets FM stations fine but I get dead silence with the AM. I know this radio got AM months ago when my son was driving it so this must be fairly recent. I noticed the windshield is cracked along the side but have no idea if this is causing the problems. Any ideas what could be the problem?
