Hello y'all. First post in this forum, I am newish to car sound. So heres the situation.
Car: 1998 Honda Civic (Duralast Gold, oem alternator)
I currently have a 10inch Rockford Fosgate hooked up to a old Orion XTR2504 amp.

Now I want to run new speaker wire to my speakers:
FS: Bostons
RS: Focals

I picked up a Kicker CX 300.4 for the speakers
I was going to use a power distributor to run my 4 gauge to two 8 gauge for the two amps, but the problem is that the XTR2504 requires 4 gauge so that idea is out the window.

TL;DR
So the question I have is this: Would it be safe to run a 8 gauge power cable AND a 4 gauge power cable wire from my duralast gold battery?

Don't make this harder than it needs to be lol.



Grab a distribution block that has (1) 4 AWG in & (2) 8 AWG out, with 4 AWG exits on the sides.

-Connect the 4 AWG side output to your Orion amp(with a fuse since you're not going "through" the distribution block)
-Connect 8 an AWG out on one of the fused sides and run it to the Kicker

Toss a 125A(max for a run of 4 AWG) fuse under the hood to protect the wire, and fuse your amps accordingly.(40A, 60A, etc)

don't forget to disable the ELD circuit if you are running 2 amps. I just disabled mine after a 2 year headache of batteries not charging properly, and the bass amp shutting off due to low voltage

I wish I saw this post earlier lol. Thanks for the suggestion. I will most likely switch to that setup when I take my car apart again.
