how do i install an amp gauge on a 1997 honda civic ex???

And what should i be readin

You will never need one, but if you still want one hook it up to a contstant power wire when the car is on.

do you mean voltage gauge? I think the amperage will be different at every spot on the car. Most people run a battery voltage gauge which should read 14.4V when you're driving and 12.4 or so when at idle.
