Fire hazard need help ASAP read please!!
I bought a used 1990 crx si. It came with 4 gauge wire with one fuse running to the back of the car where it connects to a audiobahn crossover and capasitor. Honestly I cant tell which one is which. One of them is grounded to the frame. The amp is grounded to the frame as well but in a different spot. The power wire runs from the battery to the back where there are 3 capasitor battery things. The batteries are not held in by anything just sitting there. They are connected to eachother and then to the capasitor. The capistor and cross over seem to be connected together. I also have a power inverter and a tv. Also a crap load of rca's. Where do i need fuse's I think the capistor batteries need to be fused in the back. Is one ground better or multiple? The lights act fine. The car shocks me whenever i get out of it. I swear i think it is going to catch fire. Any help apreciated. I did not do this system and i cant afford to have it fixed a local shop quoted me 1,029$ that's bull.... I can take pictures but i dont know how to resize them and post ... For the love of cars HELP

There should be a fuse on the power wire within 18" of the batt., but before it goes through the fire wall.
If there is more then one component, Amp/s , x-overs, or anything there needs to be a fused splitter block if the wire gauge going to the components is smaller then the one coming from the batt.
Any ground that goes to the floor pan of the car, [as long as done properly] is a good ground, it is best to have all grounds going to the same spot.
The shock you are getting is from "static electricity" build up, it will not start a fire, even though you can get that spark to jump from your fingertip to the car about an inch. 94

Oh I beg to differ...
That spark is more than enough to ignite a fiery inferno if there are enough fumes present, say, at a gas station... I saw it on TV once.

Re: (fcm)
Thats why you are never supposed to re-enter the vehicle once you've started to pump gas. If your getting excess static, you can often solve this by installing a grounding strap on the underside of the vehicle http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors...QrdZ1.
