Default Factory Alarm

I have an 05 Accord. I recently added a remote start. What happens is everytime I remote start the car, it sets the factory alarm off, the horn starts honking and won't stop. I have to usually go by the car and keep pushing the unlock on the factory remote or sometimes have to stick the key in the door to stop it. I need to know what wire or relay has to be cut to disconnect the factory alarm. It really serves me useless anyways because the car is always running with the alarm going off. If I can't solve this then the remote start is useless cause at early hours of the moring, the neighbors don't wanna hear it. Thanks Tommy

You will need to connect the remote starts OEM alarm disarm output to the cars alarm disarm lead, [comming from drivers door key lock switch] the lead is black/red changing to a white lead, it goes to the drivers door module, [in the drivers door] this wire needs a neg.(-) pulse before remote start.

If the remote start does not have a OEM alarm disarm output lead you can use the door unlock lead and diode isolate it from the cars power door lock connections, then program remote start to "unlock before remote start" and [lock after remote start.

What is the make and model of the remote start?
Do you have the remote starts door lock/unlock outputs connected? 94

Its a Compustar aftermarket remote start with an alarm, door locks and trunk pop. I never use the factory remote thats on the key anymore. I have no problem using the aftermarket clicker. Its just that I gotta use the factory remote to unlock when the alarm( horn honk that came with car) goes off. Sometimes just by unlocking the doors even sets the factory alarm off, but only when using the aftermaket remote(which is all I use)

A model number would help, however, all Compustar systems have an OEM alarm disarm lead, it will be CN5/2 orange/white, if you have the CM3000 brain.

You will have to run that lead, [orange/white] into the drivers door and connect it to the black/red lead, to test if you have the correct lead use a multimeter on the lead while unlocking the door with the key, the black/red lead will show neg.(-), [ground] when key is held in unlock position.

Once connected, the Compustar will pulse that lead with a ground, before remote start and when disarming the Compustar, turning off the OEM alarm. 94

Did you get and have it installed at an authorized Compustar retail dealer?

The OEM alarm disarm lead should have been connected, and was not.

The other possibility is that the "by-pass" module being used is defective, or does not have OEM alarm arm/disarm capability, in which case the OEM alarm disarm lead should have been connected.

I am surprised that the shop that installed it did not notice that, [OEM alarm tripping] when testing the system. 94

Yea, it was a Compustar dealer over here in NY. I might have to go back and see what they say before I start re-wiring things.

sounds like the installer half assed the install to get it done faster. they didnt want to go in to the drivers door to hook up fac disarm. take it back to the shop.
