Default Diode - Car Alarm - Trigger Isolation

I need to tie togher my hood, trunk, and battery back-up and isolate them as described in suspendedhatch's write up on install. I do not know which diode I need to buy. Is the one I need on this page:

http://www.partsexpress.com/we..._ID=3

or can someone provide a detailed description so that I may find it at Radio Shack. I was there early and they only had one for 12V applications but it was rated for 21mA, I read somewhere that I need a 3 A diode, and I assume that it needs to be for 12V.

almost any diode work. Go to radio shack just buy a standard 1 amp diode.

what kind of alarm? I don't recommend tieing the back up battery to the hood pin or trunk pin. It should be on its own trigger. Put the hood pin on the trunk pin or door pin. And the back up battery on the hood pin.

Viper 1002

Okay, I can do that. I can tie Hood/Trunk together and Use the Auxillary harness for the BB. I was not planning on using the Aux harness at all, but no big deal.

Use the blue, [H1/7] for the trunk.
Use the gray, H2/2 for the hood pin and the backup batt., the hood pin has no load on it like the trunk/hatch, [trunk/hatch light] so no diodes are needed. 94
