amp ground loop ... sounds like basketball dribble..
just recently, while sitting at a red light, listening to talk radio.. my amp started doing these repetitive ground loop thumps.. womp, womp, womp womp womp.... like a ball dribbling. i had to unplug the sub, i couldt' take it.
so once i got home, started trying **** out, even with regular music, the bass would hit normally, but then this loop would take over... and the music through the sub would go away.. over and over again.
another thing i noticed.. the audio level from the amp was rediculous, and with my gain **** at the lowest setting, it sounded like it was maxed out. if i unplugged the cat 5 cable, all hell would break loose...
so i checked my RCA's.. they seam fine.. infact after pulling the deck, and the side to the amp.. they still do the womp womp womp dribble without the RCA's connected.
connecting the RCA's does no good.
the car is a 2007 element. im using a DNX5120, no BT, no sat., no rear view.... only ipod video.
the amp is a hifonics bxi 608. im running 4 ga to the amp, and 4 gauge ground thats maybe 5" long. when i installed it, i ground the vehicle pan for good ground, and tomorrow i will check the ground in case it shook loose.. (doubtful)
any ideas?

another thing.. with the car on.. and the main fuse pulled under the hood.. the amp light comes on, with only the remote acc feed from the HU.
no sound comes from the sub.. but the green on light is on, with only acc/remote power to the amp.. does that mean anything to anyone?

sorry for the poor quality, it was from my camera phone..
here i have the RCA's unplugged. the remote wire snipped, and jumpered onto the power cable.
im running 4ga grounds.. and 8 ga power. (blue wire) my red wire is the ground. its maybe 6" and with a gold eye with 2 self tapping screws into the body. the ground was relocated to another area of the body for good measure.. no difference... anyone?
