Ride along for a few hot laps with NSX factory driver Ozz Negri
The new NSX is getting a proper workout at Daytona International Raceway. In the hands of Ozz Negri, the NSX GT3 adds some extra roar to the Roar Before the 24 pre-season testing for the iconic 24 Hours of Daytona race.
There’s two laps going on here, and each inch covered is part of practice. Seconds are vital, so out-lap and in-lap speed and strategy are critical for the duration of the race. With well over a dozen pit stops for an average schedule, a 2 second advantage can turn into a half minute lead at the end of the race.
Michael Shank Racing is obviously taking the effort very seriously, with Ozz sharing seat space in the No 86 NSX with Jeff Segal, Tom Dyer and IndyCar hot shoe Ryan Hunter-Reay. Team car #93 will be driven by two more IndyCar drivers, Graham Rahal, and Katherine Legge. They will be joined by Andy Lally and Mark Wilkins to complete the driver lineup for the four-driver teams.
Honda-power – in a prototype car – took the overall win at Daytona last year, but this is the NSX’s debut race. Enough talking from us. Hit play and enjoy some pure in-car audio.
