Re: **** box eg hatch ls turbo build
My hats off to you sir, these kinds of builds I really commend. Cheap yet solid, smart, and inventive, most of all it looked like alot of fun because there was no pressure for an absurd amount of power or emphasis on making a show car, just a well thought out and fun street car that will probably last as long as you own the title to the car

Not turning it up yet lol. I will be upgrading to Neptune rtp in a few months and I will be tuning it myself this time around ;-)
Can't wait to run it on slicks!

Where did you source your turbo oil supply line from? Also, do you got it coming from a oil sandwich plate or a t fitting on the back of the block?

Re: **** box eg hatch ls turbo build
I got the turbo oil feed and return as a kit from goautoworks. I'm supplying oil to the turbo threw a golden eagle sandwich plate, but the oil kit I bought did come with the t fitting. I had to buy a .065 oil restrictor because goautoworks doesn't include one in their kit.

Re: **** box eg hatch ls turbo build
The vw bug pictured above was running low 16s. There was an air cooled vw club that showed up to the track, the fastest air cooled there only ran low 15s.
Thanks man. 11s was my goal from the beggining, over a year ago when I started planning this build. Of course now that I hit 11s I want it to go faster lol. I will be ordering Neptune rtp pretty soon. When I tune it I plan on turning it up a little bit and maybe adding a methanol injection kit since e85 is not available where I live. I am pretty happy with the car at the moment tho. There is only a couple more track days before it closes down for the year, so hopefully I'll make it out at least one more time.

I need to get some wheels and slicks. I thought about summit racing. Guess they are the go to place then. Good work on the dumptube.

Trying posting your photos below each other. My browser was complaining about how wide this page was haha.

Re: **** box eg hatch ls turbo build
I decided to do a compression check on my engine since I've been beating the living **** out of it since its been tuned 500 miles ago. I was really happy to see my compression results. Now I need to change the oil again now that there is 500 miles on it. I changed it once after about 50 miles. I've been running amsoil breakin oil with high zinc content, I'm thinking I'll stick with that until around 1,500 miles or so. Compression results below.
1-179
2-172
3-175

Re: **** box eg hatch ls turbo build
I upgraded to Neptune rtp with a demon 2. Absolutely the best thing I have ever bought for a boosted Honda. I have nothing but good things to say about Neptune, very user friendly with tons of features. Beats the **** out of crome lol.
About a month ago I took the Shawn Church fastuun online course to learn more about tuning, I already had a pretty good understanding of the tuning theory, but his course really brought it altogether for me. If you want to learn how to tune yourself I highly recommend fastuun.
So far I have the car tuned pretty well. It runs way better in part throttle then it did before and the afrs are much more stable everywhere in and out of boost. I currently have it set at 15psi and it feels like it pulls harder then the old crome tune. I have been keeping a close eye on the plugs for any sign of detonation, I also made a det can that works really well. Currently I have the timing set pretty conservative only running 9.5* of timing uptop at 15psi with a little more timing pulled between 4500-5500 where peak torque and cylinder pressures are the greatest. I will likely pay for some dyno time so I can really tune the timing correctly. Overall I'm pretty happy with the power it makes. I don't want to make too much more power since it still has stock rods :-/
I just ordered a Mac solenoid and the pwm ecu components, so next I will be getting the boost by gear setup.

This is awesome! I loved my RTP unit too. Definitely much more user friendly than chrome.
Er, maybe that is the wrong way to put it. More up to date? Definitely more support. The interface is pretty similar if you think about it. But it isn't buggy.

Re: **** box eg hatch ls turbo build
I kinda want to through some forged pistons and rods in, aswell as a good set of cams and turn it up lol. But that will probably be next season as im pretty happy with my setup at the moment.

I'd be happy with your current set up! 11's is amazing. I know you are probably itching for 10's though. How is the selection of cams? I know forged bottom end internals are easy to come by.
This makes me want to finish my build and get to tuning again. I hated Chrome.

Re: **** box eg hatch ls turbo build
Honestly I haven't done a whole lot of research on cams yet. I know the Crower 404s make good power up top, but I think I would need an equal length manifold, bigger hotside on the turbo, and better flowing intake manifold for it to all work together. The way I have it setup right now makes for a really fun and responsive power band on the street, and I really don't want to take away from that by switching the torque curve to right. One nice thing is that I'm not in a hurry to do anything so I have plenty of time to figure out what's next. For now I want to get the boost by gear dialed in.
