This is just "1" pic of a motor we're rebuilding.. its a Nitrous D series setup, but this was the first thing saw, after the head was removed.
People who think its all fun and games in this hobby are stupid.. its alot of work..
Obviously, snowflakes aren't normal in a motor.

The only way I could see them make that claim is because water absorbs and releases heat better on it's own than with coolant added to it. This is why many race motors will run just water and "water wetter" to get the best cooling ability and make better power through cooler temps. A race motor that is rebuilt frequently and not driven daily won't suffer from running just water. Coolant just increases the boiling and freezing point of water when mixed.

The previous driver used water to cool the engine, but I always use coolant..

This is why there are shops....to fix jacked up installations like this. That is down right sloppy
Did JG build the block? (har har har just a little humor to lighten up the mood).

People do make mistakes... Theres a guy I won't name in the bay that bought a Spoon B18C that "ticked" from the moment it fired up. Motor was brand spanking new too. Pulled the head off to find one piston installed backwards.
Who knows if spoon did this, or the US reseller (who I also wont name) opened it up and did some funky stuff.

It also lubricates seals and gaskets, along with the pump itself, and prevents pitting, cavitation, and rust inside the block. Running straight water and water wetter is going to pit the hell out of a water pump in less than 5,000 miles and cause god knows what damage to the water jackets.

Lol well hopefully the majority of us know what coolant does for engines...
I just mentioned this in a "best" bearing thread and wish I took a pic for this thread but I just finished watchin someone do bearings/arp studs on his b20 build.
The guy looks at me smiling sayin he can rev his engine higher now and ****, then proceeded to oil both sides of his rod bearing that he was puting into the rod cap..
Hmmmmm

Wow, what head was on there? It looks like the piston rocked enough when the valves hit to cause the intake side to hit the head!
You shouldn't be learning how to install pistons in a block by trial and error, especially when you're getting paid for it.

exactly. even when it comes to noobs, they should have a honda service manual, and you can get them for free, there's really no excuse unless you have no common sense and cant follow instructions. my .02
