My B20vtec 13:5 CR Build
Hi there, I just built my b20v and it's going to be drop in tommorow in my 1995 Acura Integra LS chasiss, i estimated the CR due to all the head surface and block decking and the .03 headgasker size, here's a list of the mods, just wanted to know from tuners and people who previously had a similar build to see what whp/trq I might be expecting from the dyno. Thanks.
Block mods:
B20b block stock sleeves (Rehoned and Bore) w/: 84.5mm Wiseco 13:2:1 8.25cc Pistons, Eagle H-Beam Rods w/ ARP rod bolts, ACL Race Bearings (STD size), OEM 1996-2001 GSR Oil pump, NPR Water pump, Greddy Racing Timing Belt.
Head mods:
B16a2 99-00 Civic SI (resurfaced for the 2nd time) mild porting w/: OEM Stock Valves (lapped and cleaned), Stock retainers, BLOX dual valvesprings, Skunk2 Pro 2 Cams (degreed in @ +5 exh 0 int), Skunk2 Pro Series Cam gears, Victor X manifold (portmatched), Skunk2 Alpha 70mm Throttle Body, ARP Head Studs, Cosmetic 84.5mm B20v Headgasket, RC 750cc Honda Top Injectors, B&M Fuel Pressure Regulator, Walboro 255 Fuel pump, RMF Narrow Headers w/ 2.5 inch custom straight pipe exhaust. 3 inch CT Engineering Intake.
GSR Hydro Tranny w/: ACT 6 puck sprung clutch, Stock flywheel, Exedy Stage 1 pressure plate.
BTW: I'm adding ounces of Torco Race Fuel Accelerator to 91 octane for daily driving which should boost me up to 95 octane or higher. This is my first b20v build so always gotta do it right the first time.

Yeah it's gonna be running on a previously street tune basemap for break ins, it will probably be a few months before I can dynotune it so once it's all done ill go time it and update. It's not my daily driver just an occassional car.

Re: My B20vtec 13:5 CR Build
I would get a better header and injectors and bigger cams.
The mid dome pistons are not 8.25cc but more like ~4.3cc, so the cr you calculated will not be 13.2

Yeah a better header is a must but I have a hytech replica big tube to switch with. You think 750cc is too small for this all motor application? About cams there's not much choices to go with unless pro 3s or custom cams so ill just try this set up out first and see what whp/trq it makes. Thanks for the advice. Just hoping to hit anything from 230-250whp on a dynojet. I'm more than sure the dome are 8.25cc they're on wiseco's website and the place I ordered it from and my builder confirms it thanks though.

Nice build, can't wait to see numbers from this.
I am doing something similar to these but opting for different cams. We even have the same chassis... In for results.

Re: My B20vtec 13:5 CR Build
Torco works fine, add enough for the octane that the car can handle and there's no misfire or anything. Yeah I'm not running an exact tune but using his basemap and some data log tuning to get the car to idle good and drive for break in. Will have to wait for the dyno tune to get max power out of this build.

Re: My B20vtec 13:5 CR Build
Those are nice but aren't those just 12:1 or 12:5 cr dome similiar to pct (civic type r) pistons. No mine don't have the v shape looking dome but it's confirm to be 13:2:1 cr pistons and it doesn't have to look like that dome. Dome size are not based on how the shape looks. Different manufacturers makes different looking dome. Are those wiseco? Mine are 8.25cc and 13:2:1 cr cuz I have to run 100 octane or else I misfire :D

Thanks, yea update me on your built as well man. Hitting the dyno in August so I'll post up pictures then. Got the car running today, tuned it for idle and daily driving break in, u will need high octane or else u will misfire.

Re: My B20vtec 13:5 CR Build
Thanks man, I'm running 10 gallons of 91 octane+32oz Torco UL Accelerator= 102 octane. Yeah it's a tune basemap from a guy that dyno with his 13:1cr b20vtec but it may need some fuel adjustment for it to run better. It's just for break in, dyno tune will be afterwards.

Re: My B20vtec 13:5 CR Build
How bad do the the stock retainers hit the valve seals/ guides with the Pro Cams in VTEC? Or did you have the retainers shortened?

Re: My B20vtec 13:5 CR Build
Not sure how bad, no the retainers are not shortened but this is the same vtec head I used since 2009 and it's still in good shape. Haven't upgrade any valves or retainers for it, just make sure to put it in right and don't 9500 rpm daily and it should be fine.
