Default ls/vtec reliablilty

Just wondering how long these can last. assuming a fully built ls/vtec and tuned with uberdata.......

Can these last like a factory motor?

I would like to know as well.

Heard that LS/Vtec (LS block/Vtec head) leaks after awhile and that they are not very friendly to high rpms?

What part is the most crucial point in doing the conversion? Oil feed line, proper oil pressure (many type of kits sold)? Plugging the oil passage and making sure head properly resurfaced so complete sealing? Dowel pin alignment? Etc.

What is the max rpm without getting the rods and crank balanced?

High RPM's on stock rods boil down to one major part.

Your rod bolts. The factory LS rod bolts like to stretch at high RPM. Get some ARP's, and rev to your heart's content.

They're like $35. Cheap insurance for an expensive motor.
