High compression GSR will not idle

Re: High compression GSR will not idle
next time torque them and then bore them.(if using arp). even though hondas oem mains will hold just fine with that power. If you bought some nice rods I guess you get the arps in them.

Re: High compression GSR will not idle
What bearings did you use? Drop in ACL? I had a motor put together by a local shop, then I said skrew that. And took it to a shop that I know dose good work on Honda motors (KS) now my car runs perfect. Yeah I had to pay a lot of labor to get the motor put together 2 times. But in the end it was worth it. So next time don't cheap out, or you will have a head ache down the road.

All Motor - Do you charge a diagnostic time in the event you see various items that are wrong with the car before you tune it? Otherwise you could be working on someone's car all day and still never be able to tune it.
My local tuner would turn the guy away also. He is not in the repair business. He is a tuner.

^^^ a tuner thats been tuning cars a while will generally send you on your way if you send them a junked up project and ask them to tune it. or they will tell you whats wrong then bend u over behind a dumpster and give it to you. if you bring a car that wont run to the tuner you deserve whatever happens to you.

Re: High compression GSR will not idle
when i first started mine up it would not idle unless it stays at 3000 rpm
the problem was
1 make sure your valve clearance is within specs( according to cams)
2 make sure your timing is within specs
3make sure your head and block timing is alligned if you have thinner headgasket and milled head.
make sure your basemap is good and not some off the wall bin file you downloaded off the net.
after i checked my valves and adjusted cams for my head milled the idle got much better which allowed me to set timing properly.
with xenocron basetune and bc3+ cams it was idling at 800 rpm
