Default Eratic Idle - Ideas?

Ok,

When I went to get my new engine Dyno and Hondata tuned, I found out I've got bent valves (probably). I'm getting that taken care off soon (and while the head is off, I'm going to have a Port & Polish Job done). I was informed that drivability and reliability would not be effected by the bent valves. And that they wouldn't cause any further damage to my engine.

So, I was going to wait until I had the money to have the Port & Polish Job done at the same time (probably in a couple of months).

But my idle is suddenly became eratic. When it is cold, it idles real high (up around 2700-2800RPMs). And even after it gets warmed up, the idle will dip down to 1000RPMs, bounce back up to around 1400RPMs and level off, and then slowly climb to around 1800RPMs, and then dip down to 1000RPMs and repeat. It will continue to do this for as long as I let it idle.

What do you think? Thanks for the help guys!

Oh, and buy the way... set up is:

With all those goodies who cares about your current engine.

But really, do a search. THere are so many threads on erratic idles.

Vaccuum problem maybe, but your bent valves may be of concern as well.

i would say who ever told you that the bent valves wont cause a problem is an absolute moron... i mean just think about what a bent valve actually would cause to happen inside and even outside the combustion chamber...

I'm running the custom bent-valve mod too. Mine started with dropping idle in stop-and-go traffic... Now, it's not too bad... I just messed with my idle screw and found a happy medium... I can live with my 1k idle... better than stalling at stoplights.

You should probably get the valves done soon... Although for the most part it doesn't hurt driveability, it's still weaker than stock...
