Cylinder Head Gurus - Combustion Chamber Damage/Flaw Need Repair?
I received this donor PR3 (B16) cylinder from a machine shop about 5 years ago which I have never used. Who has repaired this type of combustion chamber damage or left it as is with success? I know that the machine shop surfaced the valve seats and deck, but the flaws and craters in the chamber do not look good. What would be your best approach and how much of an investment would you expect to make this cylinder head as good as an unmolested virgin? This would be used for a naturally aspirated combination

I wouldn't worry about the pits
looks like it needs a Valve job
spark plug hole looks kinda sketchy

looks like casting flaws. lots of heads have those. you can take a scotch brite if it bothers you that much, otherwise just go with it

Re: Cylinder Head Gurus - Combustion Chamber Damage/Flaw Need Repair?
not to thread jack but i had a similar problem but a little worse. I have a endyn ported skunk2 manifold it was kinda janky looking so i hit it with a sand blaster with Glass media. Now on the divider seperating cylinder 1 and 2 there are pits like that but bigger and deeper. I do not have a camera that can take picture clear enough to show the damage. any problems with running like that peformance wise?
