for a street car an all-motor car can make more than enough for normal street tires like the Falken Azenis, and with a much easier power curve to control for traction. i drive a street car not a track car. a highly boosted forced induction car is just too much IMO. hey when u spin tires in 4th gear its not exactly a great thing when u get your but handed to ya by an all motor car on the street. but when u go to the track and that FI guy bolts on his slicks your in trouble

Just for reference before i get flamed by some FI guy have helpedd build several FI cars. last one was a 400WHP with 14psi H22 prelude. can tell u this car is sick and has more power than the driver can control. smokes tires first 3gears if he gets on it, and spins 4th thats all with an LSD tranny. lots of fun but an all motor 220-240ish WHP most likely will beat him from a street light run. also this car isnt very reliable either. but his prelude is not a daily driver so its not a huge deal.

I used to tink that building a boosted civic would be the way forward, but after seeing all the issues my mate had with his, id rather buy a car designed to run boost in the first place....but thats just me and im sure theres lots of guys out there that are very hapy with their boosted set ups

.....a ~300whp roots blower setup has no lag whatsoever. It's like an allmotor car on steroids.

i'm building my second motor now. fullly built turbo and i'm never going all motor again.
i'm sorry but i just dont see any fun or any real power with small displacement + all motor+ 91 octane + heaver integra. i like my cars not striped out with power everything and ps and ac. u just cant have a fast car with all that and run 91 octane </TD></TR></TABLE>

you only run high 14s

what tranny are you using ?

and how are your 60ft times

you should be able to atleast run low low 14s and with practice that car will break into the 13s man you just gotta work on it

Yeah but my turbo car has a real lumpy idle too due to huge cams.. I am building a race only all motor car this winter just for fun of doing it. All factory parts but the cams and valvetrain... Cheap and fun hell gonna get a 93 cx for almost nothing. But turbo isnt really that much more unless you push it and push it but the same goes for all motor ... Its ok for a while then you need more ... That little bump may cost 1000 or 2000 to make a noticable difference. Turbo All motor

I was an FI guy for 3 years. i swore up and down that i would never switch. i built a b20/vtec all oem and boosted it, 3 weeks later boom. rebuilt it in 2 weeks and sold all my turbo stuff. I am now in love with all motor setups. its great beating on a motor and not having to worry about overboosting, spiking, egt's....all that ****. lots of fun but all motor is my home now.

Noone mentioned about fuel consumption.

Turbos slurp like no other.

Mildly built allmotor only sips.

ummm....... more air = more fuel = more power ...duh...

I was all motor once and I thought it was the "****"...!
Until I drove my buddy's WRX STI.

But ever since I boosted my Honda "I'm walking all over him...lol...!"

1. Had bad luck and problems with turbo setups.
2. Everybody and their brother is boosted now it seems. I think rarity is the biggest reason for me.
3. Being able to whoop up on people w/o boost is much more rewarding
4. Beating turbo cars while being NA

The biggest lesson I learned from having a turbo car:

Have a reliable beater, just in case
