Icon2 92mm stroker kit

Hello fellow enthusiast,

I am looking into building an all motor 85mm bore 92mm stroke b series in the very near future. I am looking at the Brian Crower long rod kit but have a few questions about it if anyone has ran this or similar setup. I will be using a b20 block resleeved of coarse. I plan on going with the long rod option so my r/s ratio isnt too bad. My first question is will this long rod set up fit in a stock b20 deck height? If it does what are the specs for the pistons I would go with so they dont hit my valves and my final CR is 11.5.1 or around that so I can run on 92 oct. pump gas. I should also mention this will be a street driven car. As far as for the head its a port and polished p72 and plan on doing full valvetrain and cams. Any input for the bottom end and or head would be greatly appreciated.

Why not sell what you've got and swap in an H23? 95mm stroke, 87mm bore... without any special parts or work. just a suggestion.

Wat r ur power goals? You'll be impressed with how much power u can make
with an 89mm crank. B20 stock sleeves will be fine. We have seen upwards of
240+ whp with stock sleeve b20 builds. Check the b20 vtec stock sleeve thread.

Im currently in the process of putting together a similar build. Im using a sleeved b18c block though with Scat crank, Eagle rods, and Endyne/Wiseco pistons.
Youll need .993 compression height pistons to use with the LS length + .137" rods.

This will keep you in the space limits of a B series block. You will most likely need to notch part of the block for clearance (bottom of sleeves on the thrust sides approx .250").

Piston to valve clearance must be checked due to the "custom" nature of this build...

Search for HT members TeamDiesel, Cheetah, Pondus, and B19 coupe. Im pretty sure these guys all have or have had 92mm crank setups. These setups seem to consistently make 160-170 TQ and 240+ HP to the wheels.
Good luck with the build!

Thanks too all of you for the helpfull info...

hondamark35- Honestly I have never been a fan of the h series motors but then agian ive only owned D and B. I also am just lookin to build a somethin wild but still streetable.

lunatics209- My power goals are 240+HP and 170+TQ. And ya I have mixed feelings about stock b20 sleeves. My setup right now is basically stock internals with full boltons, rc 310 injectors, portnpolished gsr head, and p28 on good tune. Im pretty set on a stroker motor but ill check that thread before i make a final desicion.

PyroProblem- Than sounds like a nice build!!! The rods that come in the Brian Crower long rod stroker kit are 139mm. I will ask those guys listed more about this setup.

Again thanks guys I will keep ya posted on the build.

Considering the Original Poster only has a post count of 2 since February of 2011. I doubt that you will get a response as to how his build ended up.

Better to look at the other cookie cutter/hybrid B series builds in the dyno thread to find a build sheet that suits your budget & hp goal.
