Re: (1bad-eg)
A buddy of mine rolled his s2k in the rain....was going faster than conditions would allow and he spun. Ended up rolling the car a few times, wasn't wearing his seat belt, and he walked away without a scratch.....let's just say he learned his lesson.
Im calling BS on this part. There is no way he could roll his car a few times and not end up without a scratch while not wearing a seatbelt! He would be lucky to be alive.

I'm pretty sure that the front tires should have better tread, considering we drive FWD cars. Think about it.
If your rear tires lose traction but your front ones have grip, you can still regain control. If your driving wheels lose traction then there is pretty much no way to get control back.
Good luck getting your car fixed. You live and learn.

Your going to "live and learn" also...
if you keep thinking "because it's front wheel drive, you need the best in the front!"
to be fair to the OP- i'll make a seperate post about this... look for it!

Re: (thtguybryan) MOST COMMONLY MISTAKEN 2 TIRE REPLACEMENT for FF! (WyldRice)
i've done close to the same thing but i was doing 30, and it was a real sharp corner. my wheal was pushed in, it wasn't the axle, it was the control arm., you might want to check that out

Those aren't *****... those are dormant brain cells! Never try to outdrive the conditions!
-----------------
but wait... did you lower your cars? it shouldn't spin...???
did you guys rotate your tires regularly?
it's to make sure the <U>best tread is in the rear</U>
every time i've lost traction in the corners, my car goes straight!
/\---traction
\\ <---front tires slip
||
if you are losing your rear end (it swings you around like a top) you have less traction in the rear...
<---traction!
\\ <---traction!
|| ---> Spin!
AND THAT'S DEADLY! Especially in the rain, dirt or snow!
Fix that or get them "spintops" off the road!
Tire shops are not allowed to let you out the door with better tread on the front- it's against the law in this state!
i couldn't get my rear end to slide out unless i was using the handbrake in the ice and snowpack.
(sure, my car is lower than most -2" Nuespring drop, but still!)
...Expensive lesson!
But Glad to hear you guys are ok- thank your guardian angels
God Bless! </TD></TR></TABLE>
This is true from what my automotive shop teacher told me. finally somebody on here that knows this. everybody i've talked to has argued that it's better in the front.

everyone argued with Galileo about the Earth "moving" in space, and Not the center of the universe!
They persecuted him enough to make him eventually silence his "discoveries"
...some of the philosophers who opposed his discoveries had refused even to look through a telescope!
------------------------------
ignorance is Bliss!
"FWD should have better tread in front ...and the earth is flat, damn it!" lol
...some people won't believe anything we tell them!
