Type R vs. Skunk2
I currently have a JDM Type R (B18c) engine and wanted to possibly upgrade my intake manifold. I have heard that the Skunk2 Pro Series manifold is basically the same as the stock one that comes with the Type R. All I really want to know if its worth even purchasing Skunk2. I'm only doing minor bolt on's on the car in the first place. Already has header and full exhaust, but completely stock interenals. If anyone can shine some light on this for me it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
Any recommendations/insight of other products would be appreciated as well!

Re: Type R vs. Skunk2
Probably the all motor section as what your asking fits better in that category.
On my ctr motor (which has the same p73 intake mani as the itr motor) I switched to the edlebrock performer x manifold and I liked the mid range power it offers while I didn't notice a difference lost or gained in the top end.
First we should know, what is your goal by switching manifolds?
The p73 manifold is designed for better top end power, while so is the skunk2. If you bought the skunk2 manifold you would basically throw money down the drain.

Re: Type R vs. Skunk2
that's where a lot of guys typically end up wasting money. bolt on's are to compliment the build, not the other way around. don't waste your money on a different intake if you aren't doing anything else. i also hate swaps, so my opinion is moot because of bias.

Re: Type R vs. Skunk2
All the basic bolt-ons mostly don't do you any good unless you remap your ecu. On the dyno of course.
As for the pro-series Skun2 IM in question, it flow better than stock ITR IM at the top end.
