I can't tell if it dos or not from the pic.
Yes, it should have a VIN tag on tranny.
:edit: If it's a replacement tranny (new) from Acura, it won't have a tag.

Re: (SecretAgent)
heres a response from the owner:
"Another question. Why is the Vin tag missing from the transmission?? I can see holes where the vin should be attached.."
I have only one answer for that, that's not possible since nothing has been replaced or changed from manufacture. The vin tag is where it should be.

Re: (DP24)
Is the person you purchased the car from the original owner? If not, its possible that he's telling the truth ruth (at least to his knowledge anyway).
Okay, so the question I have is whether the holes on the transmission are present on JDM, USDM and repleacemetn USDM transmissions?
For the people who have replacements, can you verify if they have predrilled holes?
As for the JDM trannys, I took at my JDM Del SOl Vetec swap and it has a bar code sticker and no holes. So if the tranny or exterior case is from a JDM car, it would not have holes, unless Honda made variations in manufacturing processes over the years.
Now it does seem the U.S. trannys do have tags rivetted on to the case. It would seem you have a U.S. tranny and someone drilled out the rivets for some unknown reason :cough: stealing :cough:

everyone is correct and the seller is either lying or assuming either way there is supposed to be a vin tag on that tranny.

Re: (dented_EG8)
i just bought a new one from a acura dealer and it does have the two holes for the vin tag, just no tag it self, so just because the holes for the vin tag are there and there isnt a tag dosn't means it stolen.

I agree .
Find out if he's the original owner, or what the story about the history is.
I don't think any JDM tranny's came with the holes - Only the USDM units. Just like the JDM blocks are stamped B18C, not C5. I think this holds doubly, since JDM tranny's are 4.785 not 4.4 FD ratio like USDM.
Sooooo.... Either he's not the original owner, and the original owner replaced the trans with factory, OR, it's stolen.
Good eyes Mr. poster! Keep it up e-bay Type R po-po!!
