I had a Milano red 95 gsr back in the day too. It was my first car and I wanted to keep it forever and totally restore the body and make it mint. I stopped driving it in 2005 and parted it in 2011 because it would cost too much to get it the way I wanted. Financially it made no sense. I sold the shell to a buddy thinking I'd buy it back someday incase I regretted it. I figured someday I'd stumble across an ITR someday to "replace" it.

I picked up 00-0768 last fall. It's not mint and has some flaws, but has all vins, lower mileage and cw. And it was priced right. I'm going to take care of the flaws over time.

Believe me, you won't miss your gsr at all.

Do you believe I went in to get my GTI serviced at my local VW dealership and found a 2001 GSR in milano red w/84K miles on the lot? It's bone stock with no rust! Interior is in great shape but it does need a timing belt and water-pump and one of the tail lights leaks water. I am trying to work something out with them on a trade in but they are asking way too much.

The only thing I do miss for sure about my old gsr is the power.... boost is fun!! I just could never do that to an ITR.... Maybe if the motor ever needs to be torn down I will do a mild N/A build but nothing crazy.

Wow, that MR GSR sounds like a really nice car, you don't see many in that condition anymore. I would be scared to daily it though, if that was what you were thinking.

If you had boost in your gsr, I can see how you may miss it.

Why would you be scared? I planned on making it my daily. I have a short commute and it's a safe parking lot.

I ended up working down the dealer pretty considerably and even got more for my trade. I might make this happen tomorrow morning!

Similar situation here. First car was a 98 gsr, 14 years ago with 60K (only has 92K today), went from bone stock to eventually being fully tuned on jackson supercharger, suspension, wheels, the whole nine. I still own it to this day, garaged kept, dmv planned-non-operation, but take it out for spins around the block to keep the juices flowing. I have spent a lot of money and time to get the car how I want it to be so you can imagine sentimental value is through the roof.

Just a couple years ago I picked up a bone stock ITR and while I do enjoy it, my gsr gives me such gratification though not supercharged anymore still has the rest of the mods.

Friends tell me to part with it, but I don't think I can...

Back in the day, when I had my gsr I lived in Boston where theft was probably similar to Jersey. Two attempted thefts and no garage. I got lucky. At work the car was parked in the garage where coworkers were around all the time. At home it was behind the house and it was impossible to get a tow truck there and my pillow was only 30' away from where my car parked. It sucks how EF/EG/EK/DA/DC based chassis still get stolen to this day. I had an FA5 and AP2 since then that I never worried about them like my gsr. I guess I am saying I could never DD a nice older Honda without worrying about it it getting jacked, personally I'd rather have a worry free DD. But if you can pull it off, congrats.

Any update, did you grab both?

I did grab both! I also just snagged a 05 Saabaru Aero (essentially a WRX wagon) with very low miles and will probably be selling the GSR soon. Pretty lucky to have both Integras in stock form but can't have all 3 cars..... I think im a sucker for mid-early 00's cars.

In regards to 1295 - Haven't drove her much since I have been unsuccessful clearing a primary O2 sensor code to pass emissions etc. After some discussion with the previous owner it may need a new ECU. I have tried multiple O2 sensors, including a new OEM, and still no luck. I just haven't had time to hash out a plan or take heR to someone to diagnose. I wouldn't know who to take her too anymore either...
