Default New toys

A friend GAVE me a 83 Civic and after a bit of work she's working out as a great beater. The other car is the 91 RX-7 that my dad just bought for a great deal. Needs a new shortblock but only has 56k miles on it. It sat under a car cover for the last 3 years minus the ocassional putter around the block. Any rotary heads on the boards? The guy who sold it to us said Mazda said it was a warped rotor housing. However, it will run OK and doesn't seem to miss, or whatever is realitive to a rotary, but starts running rough around 2.5k rps and won't stay running under that. Also I just ordered the plug and bolt to replace my rear wiper on the R, and if you were curious it ended up to be $23 of special order parts coming in next week. Whatever, it will look nice

Me knows a bit about rotaries.. a lot of things can cause idle problems, check the compression, if you were local I'd do it for you on MadRev's rotary comp tester, but since you're not just do it one of the cheap ways.

Steve: front/r1housing/rotors/eccen shaft/apex seals/middle/r2housing/rear. same as a piston shortblock.

Dave got the idea of what I meant. Hopefully the RX-7 will be up and running soon. About the cop, it's reassuring to know that he's there when i tuck the R into bed

Honestly, I haven't gotten a bucket of **** worth of response on rx7club.. maybe I'm just unlucky.. the mailing list(s) are much better IMO.

Dave.. I hear ya man but I only hang out in the Single turbo and kills forums. The big list is awesome but I don't have time to dig thru hundreds of emails.

i too have a rx7 as a daily beater, however at the moment my stoopid brother is driving it causing all kinds of problems to that car, if you need in any help jus PM me and tell me whats wrong, pretty sure i mite know what would be wrong, just have to check up on that, if its an NA motor, i have plenty of interior parts, and engine parts, and suspension parts, i basically have a RX7 junkyard in my back yard, and two rx7 shells in my garage, anybody want a good project car?
