Eh got into a FB bs match with a guy that had fake type r decals on his rsx telling me my R was fake because they all come with red recaros and Brembo brakes and the JDM front, said no real Type R was sold in the states...it took half the members telling him he was an *** and banning him before I think he got it....

I am 23 and just bout my first R this Sunday. It is just a shell currently but the hassle to get heR... Makes me want to keep it forever already. I got my first Integra in 2007, which I still have and enjoy. I have no desire to move onto a vehicle with new technology because I enjoy these cars so much.
dude you're only 23 ? wtf lol I swore you were closer in age to me

Enjoyed reading these posts guys. I have been wanting a Type R since the first year they came out. I am 32 now and buying one is still on my "to do" list and it will be a straight collector car. Once my extra garage ceases to be my kids playroom I will look at getting one...

That's interesting, I'll admit there is almost a total turnover of ITR forum members since the time I was more active here in the early 2000's. But I don't feel the group's enthusiasm for the ITR has diminished. I'm involved in a number of forums, since I also own an NSX, S2000, and a 35 year old Datsun in addition to the ITR. I consider myself a life-long car enthusiast, and as such I'm here to talk about the cars. Whether or not I think I might be too old or too sophisticated to participate in this forum never really enters my mind. Because our interest in the ITR is the common denominator that brings us here.

Re: How old are you? Anyone else feel this way?
Lol nor did he same 'complete'
Had some *** clown last night in a restaurant parking lot tell me my R was fake because it didn't have a 10 digit VIN and because it is LHD. I decided to be polite and give him a lesson, because I was in a good mood. However he was convinced and so sure of himself that it was fake. I don't even look like somebody that would go our of their way to make an Integra look like an ITR, and my ITR is stock and dirty so it doesn't look like I'm trying hard to impress anyway.
He said "my boy has a 10 digit RHD ITR and he said....." before he could finish his sentence I said "**** your ricer friends they're clearly all idiots". (at this point I was looking for a confrontation) He then proceeded to give me directions to their next race, and I just had to start walking away.

If you guys want to spare yourselves these goofy interactions with people who think your ITR is counterfeit, just have a body shop remove the stickers like I did. Lol... And yes there are still a few of the "old timers" still around, you know who you are.

Hopefully the ITR Expo will be around for a while yet. NSXPO is still going strong. Admittedly there were three times as many NSXs imported to the U.S. as there were ITRs. I hope to attend ITR Expo at least once before they end. We hosted NSXPO 2010 here in LV. It was very well attended, expensive to produce, well planned, and quite the experience. I think I would enjoy just a track day, banquet, and hanging out with the attendees like the ITR event has always been.

Re: How old are you? Anyone else feel this way?
There's a west coast ITR meet at Buttonwillow on April 20 during a Speed Ventures event. From my point of view, the east coast has more enthusiasm for track events than the west coast ITRs. In 2011 ITR Expo was going to be at Buttonwillow. Online chatter was positive, especially from all the west coast people who've been wanting ITR Expo back on the west coast. I signed up and everything but all the people who were so gung ho about attending and registering and paying up didn't and the event was cancelled.
I'm irked because I paid and registered and as soon as it was possible to do so and was pissed that it was cancelled. If I IIRC correctly, the banquet was planned to be at HPD too!
