Default burning oil?

I just got my oil changed about a week and a half ago, and probably put 150-200 miles on my car and i was a quart low already? There is also alot of black smoke coming out my exhaust at all times and especially alot when i am in vtec? Any help with what the cause of this is would be greatly appreciated, thanx....

last time i checked my oil i noticed that i burn oil , that happens to me is when i hit vtec, i see lots of black smoke coming out , then i noticed i burn more , then a month later i start to see blue smoke , brought back to the dealer they got me back new bottom end and and all 16 valve stem , but i have to go through 2 dealer , coz one of them don't want to warranty my engine

When you got your oil changed, did you actually check to see if the dipstick was indicating full? Are you really, really, really sure?

If it's really black smoke, you're most likely running rich. When you check your oil level again, be consistent as to WHEN you check it. You should check it when the motor is cold.

its normal for an ITR run a little rich, myne blows black smoke out too and so do many others, myne also burns oil fairly fast too which is normal as long as there is no blue smoke coming out your exhaust, try a thicker oil and always keep an eye on your oil level, when i change my oil i always buy an extra litre of oil.

The reason I don't like Mobile 1 is because of the fact it seems to burn off a lot quicker then regular 5w30. I have not had any problems burning oil with Pennzoil 5w30. Black=Rich White/Blueil

You can request synthetic from the dealer, like another $30 bucks or so.
