Default Your thoughts on this

My 91 RHD da is making me scratch my head


ok i replaced the dizzy,
new starter
new battery
new spark plugs

when i drive it in first at low RPM its koo
but when i step on the gas it boggs out and sometime the whole car shuts off
what are your thougts??

What if you ease into the throttle? Will it run at higher RPM and partial throttle?

I'll guess fuel filter from the limited information.

ive got $100 on fuel pump! and while your at it change the filter also, cheap&easy.

yes sir timing correct..

When I start the car it runs perfect just sitting there idle is perfect like 900
but when I start to drive it it boggs out than shuts off the motor everything else is on the lights,radio,and so forth just the motor shuts off...

First thing I thought of was that it could maybe be a injector problem or even maybe a electronic problem.... like the coil or the entire distributor...

Engine starts but stops immediately

- Loose or faulty electrical connections at distributor, ignition coil or alternator.
- Insufficient fuel reaching the fuel injectors.
- Vacuum leak at the gasket between the intake manifold and throttle body.

Engine stumbles on acceleration

- Spark plugs fouled.
- Fuel injection system faulty.
- Fuel filter clogged.
- Incorrect ignition timing.
- Intake manifold air leak.

Engine surges while holding accelerator steady

- Intake air leak.
- Fuel pump faulty.
- Loose fuel injector wire harness connectors.
- Defective ECU or information sensor.

Engine stalls

- Idle speed incorrect.
- Fuel filter clogged and/or water and impurities in the fuel system.
- Distributor components damp or damaged.
- Fault emissions system components.
- Faulty or incorrectly gapped spark plugs.
- Faulty spark plug wires.
- Vacuum leak in the fuel injection system, intake manifold or vacuum hoses.
- Valve clearances incorrectly set.
