Default Type r sway bar issue

97 rs
Asr subframe
Type r 22mm sway bar


Going into my drive way heard a loud pop...saw my driver side sway bar end link had pop out from the bushing...bushing and screw still tight to the control arm...any idea why this happen... <br >


This next picture is how it was sitting on the car prior to this...could it have been that the d brackets was sitting to low....?? <br >

Update...i remove the sway bar and notice it was rubbing alittle with the asr subframe...not alot...just alittle....any idea guys

Crappy endlink...too low...

I'm leaning towards the crappy endlink because I notice your coilovers are adjusted that low.

Endlinks are brand new oem from dealer....so are u saying there faulty.....


Now low am not that sure....a coke bottle fits under my front bumper all around side to side...i thou i was to high lol..

And my rear is high *** ****...lol i would say am stock heigh all around to be honest...3 finger gap from tire to fender all around...

just because they are oem doesn't mean they cant be faulty....if you have to much tension something is going to break, and that just happened to be the weakest link.

Was the suspension loaded when you attached everything?

Mmm yes u do have a point...well for now i press the bushibg back in the end link...let me tell u . Even with a press that mother ****** was hard...i was shock... and i put the whole thing back together...i did notice the sway bar was rubing with the asr subframe...am thibking maybe i put the prothan d brackets to low. So this time around i did everything again...tight everything to spec.. position the prothane d brackets higher to were it wad not rubing the subframe...thanks guys...

I think you're missing one of the washers that helps retain the endlink.

Check out a parts diagram for the ITR on an acura site. Make sure you have the hardware oriented the same.

Yes. The purpose of the washer is to retain the endlink. You can buy metric washers at a hardware store also.

I order them already but 7-10 buis days sucks...will these work found them in my tool box...thats not The actual bolt,just a suspension bolt i have laying around and use as a example....

as long as the inner diameter roughly matches the bolt, and outer diameter roughly matches the end of the sway bar link.

The washer in your photo is too small on the outer diameter.

I just bolted on my ITR's endlinks the other day...and the washer was about 2mm thick, had a M10 inner diameter, and about a 25mm outer diameter. I'm doing this by memory. But just like an elephant.....I always forget...but never forgive

Alright thanks for the advice bro.. i used for now the ones i showed on the pictured but order the oem washers...shoukd be here anyday now..thanks guys.
