Re: Are these problems worth repairing?
Window weld is a polyurethane material that some people use to do DIY polyurethane filled engine mounts. Just keep in mind that you will experience MUCH more idle vibrations with filled engine mounts vs. stock unfilled.

Re: Are these problems worth repairing?
here's my suggestion; first, pick up a helms manual, or equivalent, for your vehicle. this is by far the most sound investment you can make as a car owner. it is worth its weight in gold. take the time to study it. read it cover-cover.
second, some basic hand tools. pick up a 50-100 piece tool set. go to a swap meet or something for this. also, a multimeter. you can find a cheap used one for 30$ with all the functions you'll ever need to diagnose electrical problems in your car. or at the very least, a 3$ test light. it is probably the second most important investment you can make as a vehicle owner.
now, i realize you probably don't have the time to pick up the manual, read it, grab tools, then fix the problems. never mind the space to do it.
so in the meanwhile, go on your local car forums. ask for help there. people who can do the work at their own home won't need to charge you any overhead, and that 88$/hr shrinks down to 30-20$/hr. plus, they'll be a lot more inclined to teach you a few things in the process.

Yeah, I found the manual for my car. 1400 Pages of information. I already have a basic tool set as well. The problem I have right now is that I'm not sure if I believe all of the problems THAT mechanic told me I had.
I know the wheel hub needs to be replaced, which i bought, but I don't have the press/jack to do it.
I was briefly looking at my motor mounts, and I'm not sure if they look like they need to be replaced, they don't look cracked as far as I can tell.
I'm not sure how to tell for the axle.
My front right caliper rattles, which is annoying, and that is like a 10$ fix.
And I'm not sure what the rear stabilizer bar frame bushing is, so I can't tell if its bad.
I need to go to a different mechanic that I trust, then if they confirm these things, ill start shopping for the parts, but not until then.
Why fix it if its not broken?
Anyone who lives local is definitely invited to come help...I will throw some $ and beer in.

Re: Are these problems worth repairing?
try your local forums. they'll give you a hand.
to check motor mounts it's best to have it in the air and pry between the motor/trans and the mount.
not sure what the rear stabilizer bar frame bushing is, but have a look at your rear lower control arm bushings and rear sway bar bushings. if they look chewed up, they'll need to be replaced. if they don't look too bad, leave them for now.
what did they say was wrong with the axle? boot torn? binding? clicking in turns?

Re: Are these problems worth repairing?
they just said the driver axle needs to be replaced, but i'm gonna try to have my other mechanic confirm these things this week, then i can start shopping for parts. what forums? I only know of this one, and most of the people in the honda game near me don't even know the purpose of a forum.

Worth it. Even with 180k on the car, it's a half life honda. I had a del sol that went through wheel bearings and dizzy's more than anything else, so once it's fixed, it's done.

Not true
Which is why OP should try and find a mentor or something in the area and diy it. It will save him a lot of money which he stated he doesn't have and he'l learn something.
I don't know what his plans are with the car but he could go change his axle, beat on it a couple weeks and it'll be clickin on him again and he'l be payin for another axle/axleswap.

^ only bad thing about that is you might
A. Get a crackhead that hacks up your car to get a hit
OR
B. Get someone whole pretends to help you then plots to steal your car in the process

Re: Are these problems worth repairing?
Well, I went to the mechanic today and learned this:
I need 2 Motor Mounts (Tran/Rear)
Wheel Hub
Drivers Axle
Front Lower Control Arm
Those are all immediate things, then I have some minor things such as:
my bumper cover doesn't line up correctly due to some minor frame damage.
I have to have the frame straightened (about $200)
I need to replace my sway bars (will go with aftermarket)
etc.
