if you can get the motor refurbished, come on the b16 is a really good motor, and your motor is around 13-15 years old, you think it might be alittle warn??? give it some new rings and such and build it, and youll hall ***, atleast 25% of a fast car/motor is tuning and maintance

id* buy and LS block and rebuild that with JDM B16 pistons (yielding 11.54:1 cr) with your B16 head and oil line..would be pretty fun....but thats just me....

Buy a Mini...... just kidding. Keep your B16 and rebuild it. Like was siad before, you will be faster just on fresh internals alone. A refreshed engine will feel like a million bucks! Good luck. LS/VTEC does sound pretty appealing as well, especially if you are willing to tear into the head and block anyway. Have fun.

get an LS or CRV block. b16a has NO torque good enough for an integra.
an LS block with some ITR pistons (better built than b16 pistons) will yeild a nice cr and give you higher HP and TQ.

well i dont know if there better built...i would think Honda pistons would be Honda pistons..! and they are JDM soo.....anyways..USDM ITR pistons give a 10.80:1 cr with OEM gasket and PR3 head...JDM ITR gives 11.31 and CTR gives 11.97:1 cr. CTR is a little high (not saying that he cant) but its seems that he wants a little more streetable car..and 11.5< is still streetable but would give any big cam some*justice....
and if you get a CRV block (like me) then good luck tryin to fit CTR or any other OEM piston in there! Aftermarket only! which is $500+ compared to $200~300 for OEM....and if you wanna run stock internals (CRV) then good lucky tryin to make much more power with anything bigger then CTR cams.....and if your thinking about JDM CRV (B20Z) then you have to machine the stock pistons so the VTEC valves 23mm dont hit the 21mm valves releaves...with B20Z and machining...you couldve bought and LS sleeved with OEM pistons..then down the road with a little more money you can bore out to 86mm add some aftermarket pistons with a 11.5~12.5 cr......
......but i dunno..i only have 690 posts..your the one with 2133 posts.....

what does my post count have to do with my knowledge of cars??
my answer was very brief because i know there is a LOT to building a good crvtec that i don't know about. i do know that you need custom pistons thats why i said ITR for the LS block.
Whatever anyone does to their cars, they should know that they need to do LOTS of research before hand. otherwise you'll just end up as another jack with a blown motor.

why would i want to dig out a piece of **** b16 that cant even break in the 15s ?
Whats the 99 SI clocked at?

I think a 91 Integra will be as light as most any 92+, ecspecially 96+ civic coupe. A B16 is good for RPMing, so put new pistons in there and some bolt ons, and some other stuff.

Or check out my other post I just put up for another route.....

If your looking for torque then you dont want a honda, I have a b16 in my 96 integra and ill pull on gsr's all day, and when I finish getting out my bugs and tuning it somemore ill be able to eat stock typeR's, keep the b16 its a ballanced motor and Lives in high revs stock.

I saw a real poor mans R yesterday- it was a 94~95 white LS with fake red A badges, rear wing that was higher than the roof, and the driver painted the hubcaps gunmetal as if they were the 5-lugs. Ha!!

Oh and it had black trim strips on the doors too. LOL

No, poor man's type R is a B18C1 block with a B16A head. Not really for the "poor man" if you plan on building it. Trust me, I know. But its just as reliable as a true ITR motor. Its a non-frankenstein motor since thats all a ITR motor really is. They make good power and last, the LS/CRVtec all make good power, but will they last over 100,000 miles?
