Default NEED HELP WHEEL SHAKE

Ok this all started a while ago after I did a brake job. I get a shake on the highway at a constant speed of about 70. I'll start to feel it in the wheel and also feel the vibration coming through the floor/gas pedal. Than if I hit the brakes the wheel shakes violently. I have replaced front upper and lower ball joints outer tie-rod ends front wheel bearings new tires balanced twice also the cars been aligned twice, another set of rotors (even balanced them) Brand new Tein SS's. Still the shake is there I checked everything I dont know what else to change. No accidents. Im thinking of just trading it in on a new car but man I'd hate to get rid my teg but I dont know what to do. Ive had to pull over a few times I thought the wheel was coming off. PLEASE HELP. IM SURE SOMONE KNOWS WHATS GOING ON.

If it occurs while brakeing it could be the rotors. another option is jack up the car and wiggle the wheel if the axle stays still and you can move the rotor and tire then it could be a wheel bearing hope this helps

didnt change them yet but there is no play in them no clicking around turns. Would they even cause a shake? Dude I love my car but this is getting frustrating.

I have heard cases of them causeing shaking and not makeing any noise so that would be a last resort I geuss but, I have heard of it happening before.

Anyone else. I am going to order new axels in the AM I got about $1200 in this front end already (including the Teins). Hope the axels do it. Just talking to another mechanic about it and he says the axels too.

Yea I would say axles to, its the only resonable thing left to do to find out, also make sure all your bolts tight, I left a ball joint nut lose once and I had a weird *** steering problem and didn't know if would be all cause of that

Didn't even think of that, unbalanced wheels would def. cause that problems at high speeds

Did you break in the new rotors? Usually if new pads aren't bedded/broken in properly they can leave uneven pad deposits on the rotor, which can cause shuddering when braking. If they are still new, you can try breaking them in again. Just do a series of stops from 60 to 5, 50 to 5, 40 to 5, and down until you stop smelling the pads and it seems like the deposits are gone. You could also try sanding them off with garnet paper.

Here is an article on the problem:
http://stoptech.com/whitepaper...h.htm

If not the rotors, I think that wheel balance could be the culprit.

obviously you checked to make sure your wheels are tight?? **** happened to me Um, other than that I don't know what it could be. If you're not using hubcentric rings, you really should be-- I had that problem until I popped those things in.

dude it's your axles, simple as pie.

read the haynes manual, under "shaking at highway speeds" there's only two possiblities it lists: worn inner CV joint(i.e get a new axle) or "out of round or unbalanced wheel" could be your problem, but if it happened sort of overnight it's probably the axle....

i just had the same problem, violent shaking at highways speeds, worse when breaking, a tiny bit better when accelerating, i bought a new axle fo $116 CAD and it rides like a dream now...

what happened was my CV boot was torn, somehow soem debris found it's way nside the boot, and bam, instantly I couldn't drive over 70km/h, i thought my wheel was gonna fall off or the car would shake apart, it was a lil' scary

could be the axles like he said^^

i had a problem like this in my teg and it was the tires...i know you said you balanced them tho.

the wheels could be bent also.

I had that, but my wheel (drivers front wheel) also got hot. One time it got so hot the caliper was smoking when I stopped. Ended up being a bad caliper. Just put new rebuilt calipers on the front with new rotors and pads.

First sign while driving it was a funny vibration that came and went.
