Manual install: Not getting in gear
Hi everyone! I just reinstalled my (manual) transmission and am having a slight problem. I can start the car, it idles fine, but I cannot grab any gears. First and second dont even catch, some of the higher gears catch a bit, but reverse is the only one that is even close to engaging (I need to start it in reverse to kind of engage it, the car doesnt move but the typical reverse whine happens and rpms lower a bit).
Im not sure what the problem is, and I installed the clutch, flywheel, throwout bearing correctly, the slave cylinder and clutch seem to be working fine. I had a friend check it out and he assumes its the linkages. Before I take the transmission out to troubleshoot this, has anyone else had this problem or does anyone know what I can do to make my car get into gear? Thanks

Re: Manual install: Not getting in gear (morocco)
Please clarify:
You can feel the tranny going into gears, but the clutch is not grabbing.
Check clutch/slave and master cylinder.
Or:
You can feel the clutch working and grabbing, but the tranny won't get into gear?
Check shifter/shifter linkage.
If you didn't open up the tranny, it's probably one of those two.

Im going with option B on that one hehe, the second one is my problem. I will check it out, I didnt open the transmission and fool around in there. Is this a common occurance on these cars?

Check out the "bitch pin" the linkage pin because if you took it out and dident get it in all the way it will pop right back out
