ls-vtec rev limit?
How high can I rev safely on a ls block with forged rods and piston but stock sleeves? I am putting in some buddy club valve springs and retainers up top.

iono to tell you the truth but 
on choosing lsv. **** is fast. i used to have that in my car. i took it up to 9k one time. but every other time i took it to 8.2

Yeah. I have my rev limit set at 8200 and take it there sometimes. I am rebuilding the block and upgrading the head so I want to rev much higher.

Wherever you stop making power. But since you have stock cams, 8200 is fine.

yeah i'd say around 8200rpms too...is your car tuned?..if not once you do get it tuned just look at the dyno graph and see where you car stops making power...and just take it a couple hundred of RPM's over.....

I forgot to mention that it will be boosted and looking for around 300whp. If it still wants to make power around 9k will I be fine taking it there?

the ITR head can withstand more then 8k rpm on a stock valvetrain, the B18B stock block can hold up to around 7-7400k rpm i think, correct me if im wrong. Just because the head can rev high doesnt mean the block can hold up to it as well. The block can fail first before the head. build the block up first then the head. I suggest upgrading the pistons, connecting rods, bearings..etc, sleeving it possibly, then you can rev up to 9 at least, but most important is the tune and builder if you want longevity and reliability.

DO NOT REV A STOCK B18B BLOCK TO 8000.
The stock rod bolts can not handle it and will come loose and really mess **** up. The stock rod bolts are known to warp and get all screwed up. If you want to rev higher i would highly suggest replacing the stock rod bolts with some ARP rod bolts.

Mine held to 8500+ just fine (please note, the guy asked about a built block and Im telling him about my built block....so no f'ing bs about "A stock block cant"...it wasnt stock and your dumbass didnt read). Basically it all depends on how well the engine is assemblied and if you got the bearing specs right.

When, first built my LSV set up, I had a stock LS block with ARP studs and rod bolts...I have an ITR head with P73 ecu...And I would take it to 8400 no problem...but I'd also say 8200 is safe!

How are Forged rods/pistons going to make it safer to rev higher?

what really helps u rev to 8k on ls vtec is it the connecting rods that u have to replace or u can just get away with putting in arp rod bolts?
