keys sandwich inside...
Allright.. Check it out..
I've managed to sandwich my keys between the hatch and the body of the car.
I can see the keys, they are next to the top of the the hatch shocks (0r wtevr) about the rear passenger corner.
The only way I can think of opening the trunk is the switch-which doesnt work.
It used to work, then worked on and off for a time-then stopped working altogether.
I've read other stories about this individ. who had the same problem with his hatch switch as i do, but could'nt open his trunk by key so entire locking mech needed replacing.
Which isnt the story on my dC2-I can open it with my keys-problem is.. there a "key sandwich" @ the moment.
Ideas and 'opinions' welcome!
God Bless!

3 steps to gettin rid of key sandwich.....
1) Find an old lamp
2) Rub until genie appears
3)Use first wish on opening the hatch, second wish on aquiring more smarts to avoid this situation in the future, third wish on me to stop laughing at you... good luck!!

i would take the 4 digit number on one of your door locks cylinder and take that number to a locksmith. that should be able to cut you a new key. that is if you are not locked out of your car.
good luck..

LOL @ the Genie comment. You're pretty much SOL without a spare key.
Can you get a wire into the hatch and pull the key out?
Isn't there a release in the trunk to let you out if you are stuck in there, or is that only sedans? Flip your seats down, crawl in there and check it out.
If you're locked out of the car, call a locksmith. They will have your door open in seconds.
Once you get it fixed, have a spare key cut.

once you have the door panel off you should be able to access the door lock. you may have to remove this lock cylinder to see the 4 digit code engraved in it. give this 4 digit code to the locksmith and they can make you a new key.
